I found this book tag at Paper Eyed Girl and thought it would be a lot of fun! Its kind of a two-in-one tag where you have to find certain books on your selves and then explain what made you choose them!
Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?
I have lots and lots of blue covers and I couldn’t pick just one!
The Fault in Our Stars – My sister recommended this to me and she rarely reads so I figured I would give it a try.
The Selection – This one just sounded awesome. Sort of like a Cinderella rags-to-riches story with some competition thrown in!
Endure – I picked this one up because it was the next book in the Defy series and I had already read the first two
Harriet The Spy – I haven’t actually read this book yet, but I loved the movie as a kid!
Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you want to read it in the first place?
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this because it seemed super dark and I don’t like stories where girls fall in love blindly with cruel men, but there was so much hype surrounding it that I was curious and ended up loving it!
Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick a book at random. How did you discover this book?
My mom tried to sell this, along with a bunch of other books, at our garage sale. The ones that didn’t sell I went through and picked out anything that looked even remotely good. I haven’t read this one yet, but I have read a good chunk of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?
Phil recommended these to me and I absolutely love them! I can’t wait for the 9th volume to come out!
Pick a book that you discovered through YouTube/book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?
I know I used this one already but its the only book I could think of for either category! I loved this book!
Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a one-word title. What drew you to this book?
I bought this in a little coastal bookstore. I had never heard of an “Advanced Reader Copy” at that point. I thought it meant the writing was more advanced and I was super confused why they would publish two reading levels for the same book. The owner kindly explained to me what it was and I was intrigued. I later learned that selling and buying ARCs is a no-no, but I only paid $4 for it and ended up really liking it.
What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?
I loved this movie and watched it a bunch of times before I learned it was a book. Of course, I had to get the book immediately! I loved it!
Think of your all-time favorite book(s). When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place?
Pride and Prejudice! I first read P&P in high school. I think it was my sophomore year. I fell in love with it! I have a special shelf dedicated to Jane Austen books and P&P spin-offs.
This was a fun tag! I like searching though my bookshelves so find books that fit each category 🙂 I am not going to tag anyone but please play if you want to! Let me know if you do, I would love to see your answers!
