This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but kept up by Lynn’s Book Blog.
“A Hand without a hand? A bad jape, sister.”
This weeks theme: A cover featuring a hand/hands.
My Choice: Han Solo at Stars’ End
I know! I know! The theme is “Hands” not “May the 4th be with you” But today is Star Wars day and it would be blasphemous not to do a Star Wars post. Plus, the super famous “Han Solo Stance” kinda features his hand … on a blaster.
That is literally the first picture that comes up when you google “Han Solo” It totally counts!
Covers:
Del Rey Sept 1979 | Del Rey March 1979| Del Rey 1980 | Sphere 1979
Mondadori 1980 | Amber 1996 | Fleuve Noir 2005 | İthaki Yayınları 2005
Del Rey Jan 1979 | Pendragon Könyvkiadó 1992 | Эксмо 2000 | Bruna 1980
Most of the covers are just variations of the original cover (Del Rey Jan 1979) with the “Han Solo Stance”, Chewbacca, with the two moons behind them. I do like that cover but its kind of old and out dated looking. Even tho it only came out a year later, I like the Del Rey 1980 cover much better.
Winner:
Which is your favorite? Do you agree with my pick? Do you love Han Solo too? Let me know in the comments!
I love your justification for “Han[d]s” Lol
And your cover winner is perfect!

Who cares what the theme is Han Solo. I can’t even remember which was my favourite because I can’t function now. Okay, I’ve gone and taken another look – your winner is defo the one.

Ooh I remember seeing this at a used bookstore I think and thinking a Han Solo trilogy? I’ve never read it though. I may have to track it down! I do like the one you picked, and I like the original blue one too, maybe because that’s the one I saw. 🙂

As far as I can tell there are actually two main Han Solo trilogies. One by Brian Daley and the other by Ann C. Crispin. I have read one of them but it was so long ago that I can’t figure out which one it was! 🤦 I own both and have been meaning to read them both.

Cool, I didn’t know that! I might have to track down this Brian Daley one, it looks fun. 🙂
