Can you believe we are almost half way through 2018?!?! I saw this tag at Paper Fury, Books and Co, and Aurora Librialis. I wasn’t actually specifically tagged by any of them, but it looked like fun so I am going to do it!! On a completely random note, its kind of interesting, all three posts answered slightly different questions, and they all did the tag because they did it last year!
The best book you’ve read so far in 2018
Oooh This is a tough one! Its between Heartstone and The Fire’s Stone
The best sequel you’ve read so far in 2018
I have 4 options:
- The Lady Travelers Guide to Larceny with a Dashing Stranger
- Daughter of the Siren Queen
- Godsgrave
- The Thief Who Spat In Luck’s Good Eye
I would have to say the best one is Godsgrave.
A new release you haven’t read yet but really want to
Spinning Silver!!! (Yes I know it isn’t technically released yet but I just got the ARC and am going to start it tonight!!!!)
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
Heroine’s Journey!!!
Your biggest disappointment
The Viking’s Chosen. I wanted to love this book because Vikings are awesome! It had sooo much potential but it just has too many issues
Your biggest surprise
I got The Fire’s Stone for free on Amazon Kindle and was bored and didn’t have a book with me so I just randomly picked one from the backlog of books on my Kindle. I didn’t think I would like it all that much but it ended up being one of my favorite books of all time!
Favorite new to you author
Jay Kristoff and Tricia Levenseller!
New fictional crush
Umm pretty much every main guy!
- Riden (Daughter of the Pirate King)
- Holgren (The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble’s Braids)
- Alastair (Heartstone)
- Fiske (Sky in the Deep)
New favorite character
Again, pretty much every single one. I am not even going to try and list them all.
Book that made you cry
Sky in the Deep
A book that made you happy
Geekerella
Favorite book to movie adaption that you’ve seen this year
My only two options are Ready Player One and Love, Simon. Both were good, but Love, Simon followed the book better.
Favorite post you’ve written this year
I created a tag and it did really well! Lots of people participated and I am really proud of it!
Amazon’s “100 Books to Read in a Lifetime” Tag
The most beautiful book you’ve bought read this year
This is super hard because I have bought a ridiculous amount of books this year and I don’t have a good resource to look at all the covers. So I am going to change this and answer “The most beautiful book I’ve read this year” instead.
The Wendy
P.S. This picture doesn’t do it justice, but this is also my favorite Instagram pic so far this year so I wanted to use it still. Here is the cover:
What books do you need to read by the end of the year
I need to read A Pirate at Pembroke by the end of this month. Its the only book I “need” to read, but there are TONS of books I “want” to read!!
So far its been a good year!!! I have read a few picture books and that is why I am mostly on track for my reading goals, but that is ok with me! How is your year going? Are you freaking out? I can’t believe we are almost halfway through the year already!!
Note: All the book pictures that are more than just the cover are pictures I took! I am still working on my bookstagram skills (my pic for The Fire’s stone isn’t great haha) but I am loving it and am really proud of some of my pics!
I am not going to tag anyone because I wasn’t tagged myself, but if you want to do this tag then please do! And then let me know so I can check out your answers!
33 books is great! I’m at 29, but my goal is only 52. Keep it going!

That’s so many books 🙂 . My challenge is just 50 books .
Geekerella also made me laugh. 🙂 🙂
I hope you have awesome month ahead.

I managed to do 100 last year but I had a lot of Children’s books and Graphic novels so its not quite as spectacular as it sounds. 😀 50 books is still awesome! I don’t think you can really compare your challenge to anyone else unless you are reading the same exact books and that would be boring!
Thanks 🙂 And I hope your month is awesome too!

That cover for Wendy alone makes me think I’m eventually buying it! This is such a fun annual tag I loved reading your answers!
And I wanted to let you know I just found out Heartstone is getting a sequel this November (I believe). Dragon Shadow. Crossing my fingers the sequel is just as good 🙂
