Mary’s “First” Questions:
First memory of a story
I remember so many different Children’s books from my childhood, but they don’t have a particular order to them, so I don’t know which is technically the first. But these are three that stand out in my mind:
- Love You Forever by Robert Munsch – Goodreads | Amazon (Affiliate)
- The Monster at the End of this Book by Jon Stone – Goodreads | Amazon (Affiliate)
- Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. – Goodreads | Amazon (Affiliate)
First book you bought with your own money
I don’t have the faintest idea! But it was probably at a scholastic book fair! I loved those things and my mom would only buy each of us a couple books so if we wanted more we had to buy them ourselves.

First book that made you cry
Again, I don’t know! I cry all the time during books! I know I cried in some of the HP books but they probably aren’t the first.
First book that you didn’t finish
Finally one I can answer! Up until I started blogging it was incredibly rare for me not to finish a book. The first book I can remember not finishing was 50 Shades of Grey. That book made me so uncomfortable!
- 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James – Goodreads | Amazon (Affiliate)
My “First” Questions:
- First book (or series) you remember falling in love with
- First book you would suggest to a new acquaintance (without knowing anything about their reading likes/dislikes)
- First book you bought with your own money
- First book you wrote a review for (school book reports aren’t reviews!)
My Nominations:
Instead of nominating my first follower (who is still active and interacting with me) and 4 other blogs, I am going to nominate my first five followers (who are still active and interacting with me)!
- Sofii @A Book. A Thought.
- James @ This Is My Truth Now
- Mischenko @ Read Rant Rock & Roll
- Sophie @ Beware of the Reader
- JR @ Bookworm Book Club
Thank you guys for supporting me! You probably didn’t even realize it but you guys played a big part in the success I have had so far with my blog! I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank You!
Don’t feel like you have to participate (Mischenko I know you are going on a bit of a Hiatus) but if you do, please tag me so I can see your answers!
I haven’t seen this tag! Thank you so much for thinking of me.
I used to love scholastic book fairs when I was in school. So fun! That’s actually one of my first bookish memories. 💕 I enjoyed reading this. I’ll get to it eventually, but don’t know when I’m coming back. Thanks again and take care. ❤🧡❤😘

Awesome taag! 50 shades of Grey also made me really uncomfortable, I finished it because I just needed to know what was so special about it, it wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had haha

My sister and my mom both enjoyed it so I gave it a shot, but just couldn’t do it! Thanks 🙂

Great tag, congratulations Brittany. I don’t think they had Scholastic Book Fairs when I went to school, but I sure used them to buy books for my kids. I managed to get through the first two 50 Shades books, but couldn’t finish the third one.

Thank you 😊 Yea I loved Scholastic Book Fairs! They were always so exciting!! I know a lot of people who really liked the 50 Shades books, it seems like there is a lot disagreement on if they are good books or not 😂😂

I think a lot of people liked them because they thought they were supposed to. There was such a buzz about them.

Interesting answers, Brittany! I definitely loved to check out the books at our local Scholastic book fairs, too! I don’t think I ever bought anything from them though, since I used to prefer checking with my mother before buying books. xD

Thanks 😊 My mom used to come to the fairs with us. I know she volunteered at them tho, so maybe that is why she was there with me?

There’s a Monster at the End of This Book!!! That was certainly a favorite of mine growing up. How could I have forgotten about it?! Also, I think I still have Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom memorized. 😉

Thats awesome you remember both of those books too! I have bought my niece both of them! Tho Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom was a board book so it was shorter than the original

Board books are brilliant, though. Yes, it might be shorter than the original, but it also means that the book will last longer. I was rough on books as a kid… XD Hopefully this will last for your niece for a long time.
