Hey guys! I have had a few things bouncing around in my head and I really want to talk/rant/complain/share them with someone! Since the only bookish person I regularly talk to is MIA (he is really sick) you get to be my captive audience!

1) I haven’t gotten my August OwlCrate yet and people are spoiling it on Instagram!

I am not worried that it is lost, most people have just started getting theirs, but what really pisses me off is that I already know what is in the box because of people posting pictures on Instagram!  It shipped on Friday so hopefully I get it today!

I have had to avoid Instagram for the last two days because people keep posting spoilers!  I want to go through and angry comment on all the pictures! But, I am sure they didn’t mean it, so I am ranting on here instead! (Also I apologize if I was ever the person that posted too soon and spoiled it for anyone)

PSA: Don’t post pictures of your subscription box right away! Give other people time to receive theirs!!

2) Do you know how to get emojis in your posts and comments?!?

Because I do! Aaaand I am willing to share!  I get mine from http://getemoji.com/ Its got a ton of them! You just copy and paste them and then when you submit your comment or post they automatically convert to cute little emojis! 😂😎😍

3) Meme Directory

Dani @ Perspective of a Writer created a Meme Directory where she collected all the different book blog memes!  Its awesome and you should go check it out!!

4) I am super proud of my header image!

I took it myself and I am going to toot my own horn because I am really proud of it! It took a bunch of tries to get it just right! Plus I rearranged my entire kitchen in order to get everything out of the background! My fiance was asleep so he didn’t witness my madness but I am sure my dogs thought I was crazy!

  2. I love this! And your header image. Don’t worry, I too move a bunch of stuff around occasionally while my husband is sleeping in so I can take a bunch of photos. He usually wakes up while I’m putting everything back, and wondering what the hell happened in that corner of the house? LOL

    I’ve always wished that people would only post the top of the box or something, and then use the multiple photo feature to show what’s inside. That way it’s only spoiled if people swipe through the pictures instead of being forced to have a box spoiled for you.

    1. Thanks 😀 I’m glad I am not the only one haha! I usually take pics in my “nerdy room” where all my books are kept, but I didn’t have a big enough background for all of them so I moved to the kitchen!

      Exactly! That would be a great way not to spoil it for people!

  3. I love your header, it looks great! The meme post is interesting, but I noticed a big meme that is missing, Waiting on Wednesday (although now it’s called Can’t Wait Wednesday.) But I’ll try adding it!

    1. Thanks 😊😊 I think Dani is probably pretty good at adding things if you fill out her form! I know it was a collective effort and she asked people to send her all the memes before she wrote it! So you should try to get it added!

  4. I love your new header, it is amazing. I think I need to do a new one and maybe will take my own picture as well. I like the meme directory. I would like to participate in some of them, but I have a hard time sticking to it. I shall see.

    1. Thanks 😊😊 It was fun to try to take my own picture and I am super proud of how it turned out so it makes it super special!

      The only meme I participate in regularly is Friday Face Off. The others I only join when I really like the topic! So you don’t have to stick to them! They are a great resource if you are stuck needing a post and not knowing what to write!

      1. I tried to do first line Fridays, but it only lasted a few weeks. I like the Friday Face off, I will take a look at all of them and try to pick one that I can stick to.

    1. Thank You 😊😊 And Yea I had to finagle my kitchen table into a spot where the background was plain but the lighting on the books was good haha

      Yours turned out really well! It is super unique! I copied my setup from some stock photos I was using previously and then just used my own books!

  8. Ohh a meme directory, what a great idea, thanks for sharing it! And your header image IS really nice!! Also, whyyy do people always spoil things? Book boxes, book endings, tv shows, movies… like enough, can’t people wait a day or two before they have to spoil all the things? I don’t even understand what it accomplishes, goodness.

      Exactly!!! If you love it so much and are eager to share it then even more reason to wait because then other people can have the joy of discovery too! You don’t get anything from spoiling it!

  13. I had no idea about the meme directory 😮 thank you for shariiing!! Ans I understand what you feel about spoilers since I don’t live in the US or Canada my boxes took a little longer to get here and I was always a victim of spoilers😂

    1. You are welcome!! And ah man you have it even worse than I do! I saw a couple of pics and decided to hide from Instagram but I only had to hide for like a day and a half! I’m sure its way worse the longer you have to wait!

  14. Ahh, my OwlCrate blog post is going up on Saturday, just an FYI! I don’t post on instagram until way later. Even if you use the multiple picture feature, if you scroll past the same post again, it will show you the second picture in the post and so on.. SO, it will spoil it for you. I got my box on Saturday and it’s pretty cool. I hope you get yours soon!!

    1. I’m okay with blog posts because I can choose not to read them haha. But its hard to avoid them on instagram! I got mine yesterday (monday) afternoon (my mail usually comes around 3pm) I had forgotten that Instagram does that! That is a very good point!

      2. I liked it! 🙂 I like the colors of everything tho I haven’t read any of the books the quotes are associated with. But the book this month has been on my TBR so I am excited to read it!

    1. Thank you 😊😊 And they do but it is kind of hidden inside their info booklet that people probably don’t read (I don’t read it I just look for the schedule) Also they don’t tell you not to post early so I just don’t think people think about it.

  17. Great post. You’re new header is so pretty 🙂 I’ve only ever bought one subscription box but I remember the excitement of opening it up and finding out what was inside and it would be so annoying to have that taken away due to spoilers.
