Soooo I really really don’t need to add more books to my TBR, but I saw this tag over at In Love and Words and was super curious what goodreads would recommend to me. So guess what I am doing now!!!
Rules:
Take a look at your Goodreads recommendations, choose a shelf, pick a few, share the synopsis, and decide whether you’ll add it to your TBR (including why or why not).
Goodreads Book Recs
Title: The Renegade’s Heart
Series: The True Love Brides #1
Author: Claire Delacroix
Synopsis:
Released from the captivity of the Fae, Murdoch Seton wants nothing more than to forget his lost years. Undertaking a quest to recover treasure stolen from his family seems the perfect solution – but Murdoch is not counting upon a curious maiden who holds both the secret to the theft and his sole redemption.
Isabella is outraged to find her brother’s keep besieged by a renegade knight – especially one who is too handsome for his own good or hers. After a single encounter, she becomes convinced that his cause is just and decides to unveil the true thief, never imagining that their single shared kiss has launched a battle for Murdoch’s very soul.
As the treacherous Fae move to claim Murdoch forever, Isabella seeks to heal the knight who has stolen her heart. But will Murdoch allow her to take a risk and endanger herself? Or will he sacrifice himself to ensure Isabella’s future?
Recommended Because I Read: Highland Storm by Tanya Anne Crosby
Add to TBR? No – It sounds like there is a LOT of random things going on in this story.
Title: The Thief
Series: The Queen’s Thief #1
Author: Megan Whalen Turner
Synopsis:
The king’s scholar, the magus, believes he knows the site of an ancient treasure. To attain it for his king, he needs a skillful thief, and he selects Gen from the king’s prison. The magus is interested only in the thief’s abilities.
What Gen is interested in is anyone’s guess. Their journey toward the treasure is both dangerous and difficult, lightened only imperceptibly by the tales they tell of the old gods and goddesses.
Recommended Because I Read: Fire by Kristin Cashore, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling, The Princess Bride by William Goldman, and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
Add to TBR? Yes! – I knew I was going to add this one just based on which books triggered the recommendation. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite HP book and The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite books, and I also loved the other two!! Luckily the synopsis sounds good as well!
Title: Die Herren von Winterfell
Series: A Song of Ice and Fire #1
Author: George R.R. Martin
Synopsis:
Soll Eddard an dessen Stelle treten.
Recommended Because I Read: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
Add to TBR? No – First off, I don’t speak or read German. Second, I have already read A Game of Thrones.
Title: Magic Under Glass
Series: Magic Under #1
Author: Jaclyn Dolamore
Synopsis:
Nimira is a music-hall performer forced to dance for pennies to an audience of leering drunks. When wealthy sorcerer Hollin Parry hires her to do a special act – singing accompaniment to an exquisite piano-playing automaton, Nimira believes it is the start of a new life. In Parry’s world, however, buried secrets stir.
Unsettling below-stairs rumours abound about ghosts, a mad woman roaming the halls, and of Parry’s involvement in a gang of ruthless sorcerers who torture fairies for sport. When Nimira discovers the spirit of a dashing young fairy gentleman is trapped inside the automaton’s stiff limbs, waiting for someone to break the curse and set him free, the two fall in love. But it is a love set against a dreadful race against time to save the entire fairy realm, which is in mortal peril.
Recommended Because I Read: Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
Add to TBR? Yes – It sounds super interesting!
Title: This Savage Song
Series: Monsters of Verity #1
Author: Victoria Schwab
Synopsis:
There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from author Victoria Schwab, a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books.
Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed assassination attempt the pair must flee for their lives.
Recommended Because I Read: A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab, A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir, Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth, Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff, and The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Add to TBR? Yes – This one is actually already on my mental TBR but I never added it to Goodreads. I bought the audiobook when it was on sale and I have been meaning to read more Victoria Schwab books. Plus, with all those awesome books triggering the recommendation, how could I not want to read it?!?!
This was fun!! I am going to stop after five because I don’t need MORE books on my TBR haha. But I liked looking at all the recommendations!!
Yay! I’m so glad you did this one! It was fun for me, too!
