This weeks theme: A seasonal cover.
My Choice: How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Covers:
Random House 1957 | HarperCollins 1997 | HarperCollins 2000 | Pocket Jeunesse 2002
Presse Pocket 2002 | Gottmer 2012 | HarperCollins 2013 | Mondadori 2013
HarperCollins 2016 | Le nouvel Attila 2016 | Random House Books 2017 | Libri 2018
Least Favorites:
Not a big fan of the movie tie in. I love the colors and art of the middle one but the white bar ruins it. The third the Grinch looks to sappy.
Favorites:
Winner:
I like this one slightly better than the original because the picture is the same and you have the spiky circle, but its not as harsh and I like the colors better.
Which is your favorite? Do you agree with my choice? Let me know in the comments!!
great post ❤

Oh! I love the black cover best, believe it or not. I also the blue one with the snow. Ours is like the one you picked! ❤💚❤ Thanks for sharing this and Merry Christmas!

The black one with the Ginch’s hand holding the ornament? Based on the thumbnails I thought I would like that best, but I wish it was the cartoon hand instead of the movie hand. Merry Christmas!!

I liked that one too but also wished it was more cartoony. 😄

Definitely like your top choices. I also thought the grinch with the heart was too sappy. Lol. Hey, he was mean before he became nice, after all!

Exactly! And it kind of spoils the ending if you show he becomes nice because most of the book he is mean!

I like the Harper Collins 2016 or any in that row really 🙂

Now that you mention it, all my three favorites were from the same row too 😂 I didn’t notice that! 😂

Oh wow I never realized it had so many covers.

A classic! Though I can’t believe how many covers there are. I’m partial to the HarperCollins 2016 myself 😀

I was surprised too! Usually Dr. Seuss books don’t have that many covers.

Great choice! I think I still love the original Random House edition (first one) the best, but there sure are a lot of great covers:-)

Thanks 🙂 That is the cover I had as a kid haha and I like it too

I think I like the one you picked and the original the best- having a hard time deciding, although the green is more to my liking than the red. 🙂 I like the HarperCollins 2016 one as well- heck that might even be my favorite haha!
Fun covers!

HarperCollins 2016 seems to be a popular choice! And I like the green better than the red too haha

I like yours very much – a superb choice for this week’s theme, by the way… I think yours is the most appropriate choice I’ve seen! But my heart belongs to the original – I’ve shared so this one with both grandchildren:)

Thanks 🙂 I thought it was fitting! Thats awesome that you shared it with your grandchildren ❤ That is the cover I had as a kid as well.

Love the Grinch. Have you seen the Grinch tv show and the Grinch movie?

I haven’t seen the newest movie, but I have seen the original cartoon one and the Jim Carrey live action one. I didn’t know it was a TV show?!?!

I’ve got to say the Le Grinch one cracks me up for some reason. That one and the HarperCollins 2016 version where his face looks like a turtle are my favorites.

Thats what he looks like!!! His face kind of bugged me but I couldn’t figure out what he looked like! He does look like a turtle 😂

I like your pick. 👌 I also somehow like the Random House Books 2017 one – must be those hearts, I fall for them.

Thanks 🙂 And the book is about him being mean and Grinchy so I didn’t like that one haha but other than that its a good cover 😀

I like your choice, but I think I like the original 1957 cover the best because that is the one I have.

That is the one I had as a kid, so it is special 🙂

I have the 1957 one, so that is probably why I like that one the best.

An inspired choice. I like your favourite and also Le nouvel Attila 2016.

Ugh yeah the Mondadori one has great art, but why’d they put that white bar?? Also the colors don’t feel Christmassy to me. I see there’s another w/ the same art, but somehow it doesn’t look as good lol. I like the 2nd cover best. Same art as the one you chose, but I like the background coloring w/ the white art!

I think the red background is just too bright for the second one with the same art, it just looks weird!

Oh, I’m a sucker for the original cover, but I can see your…point. Get it? Spiky cover? Point? Ah, I sleigh me.
Ba dum CH!
I’ll be here all week!
