Gilmore Girls Book List
I have been binge watching Gilmore Girls for the last week and I am a few episodes into season 3. I am LOVING it so far!! I can’t believe I waited this long to watch it!!
If you have watched Gilmore Girls you know that Rory is a HUGE book lover! It is not uncommon for multiple different books to be referenced in a single episode. In fact there were 339 books mentioned across the 153 episodes (that averages 2.2 books and episode!)
I am super curious to see how many of the books mentioned I have read. I got the list from buzzfeed. I am not expecting to do well! While watching the show I don’t even recognize a lot of the books, but I get really excited whenever she mentions a book I have read!!
The books I have read are in blue!

When I was a young single mom of a little girl, we watched this together. We both still love it! My total is 41, so you’re doing great. Have you heard of the List Challenges website? They have all sorts of lists and you can track your progress. All sorts of book related ones. I’ve been keeping track of my Gilmore Girls list on there for years. 😉

Awww that is awesome that you guys were able to love it together ❤ It seems like the perfect show for a single mom and her daughter ❤ I have not heard of that website but I know people do the "Gilmore Girls Book Challenge" where they try to read all the books. Personally I have no desire to do this because most of the books on the list are not ones I would want to read.

I definitely agree with that. After your post, I reviewed all the books on the list, and there are many that I’d have no interest in. Life’s too short to read books that don’t strike your fancy, cool list or no. 😉

Gilmore Girls is one of my all-time favorite shows. I’m so happy you decided to watch it and that you’re loving it! Rory’s taste in books is much more high-brow than mine so I haven’t read too many of those on the list haha.

I am too ❤ I can't believe I waited this long!! And yea "high-brow" is a great way to describe it 😂 I have no desire to try and read most of the books on this list! But it was fun to figure out how many I have read!

I’m 100% obsessed with Gilmore Girls. I named my oldest daughter after Rory (only her full name is Aurorah and I spelled her nickname – which she goes by – Roree).

That is awesome!!! I wish I was named after something cool and nerdy like that!! Has she watched the show? Does she love it?

Yes! She has! She absolutely loves that she’s named after the character. She’s a little too young to fully understand the show quite yet (she’s 6), but I can’t wait to watch it in its entirety with her when she’s older.

Gilmore Girls are amazing, I discovered them only a few years ago but totally binge watch all those seasons. Enjoy the series! I wasn’t too happy with the last season as the Revival one but I still watched them and would probably watch it again…
So many books… I don’t know how many I read but definitely less than a third, maybe even quarter. 😊 Happy watching! 😊

Wow, great list! I’m impressed that someone bothered to put this together! 🙂 I’ve just started Gilmore Girls too, although I’m a bit behind you, about halfway through season 2. I’m really loving it so far! (Had to take a break for a Game of Thrones binge, but I’ll be back!)

Haha I’m not surprised! Tho I am surprised that it seems only one person has done it! All of the links I found for the list credited the same person, which was pretty cool! I am glad I am not the only one who waited so long before watching it! And I am glad you are loving it so far 🙂 (and GOT is a perfectly valid reason to take a break 😉 )
