The book itself was even better than I remembered.  Even though I knew what was going to happen, I couldn’t stop listening!! I dug out my headphones because it wasn’t enough just to listen in the car.  I dug out a speaker because I wanted to listen while I was in the shower.  I was every bit as sucked in as the first time I read it!

The narrator of the audiobook was good.  It took me a while to get used to her voice because it was more feminine than I pictured for Jude, but she had great inflection and I got used to it quickly.  My biggest issue listening to the audiobook was that there is a lot of internal dialogue followed by spoken dialogue.  I couldn’t always figure out what Jude said out loud vs what she just thought to herself.

I am super excited to start The Wicked King!!!!! I am going to start it tonight! I got the OwlCrate special edition box, so I will probably do an unboxing post this weekend!  (If I can put the book down long enough to write it!)

  2. This is one of those books that has been on my TBR for a long time. After reading your review of the audiobook, I am definitely going to look and see if I can get it from hoopla or overdrive. Awesome review Brittany.

  8. Oh, thanks for.a review of the audio. Sometimes I pick up books in audio because my physical tbr pile is so long, but this sounds like one where the physical may be a better fit for me. Can’t wait to have time to get to this one, everyone is raving about it!

    1. I had never thought about it before either haha but I couldn’t tell which was which so now I am going to forever notice it!! I hope you love it when you get to it!! And reading is probably smart 😀 tho the Audiobook wasn’t that bad haha, it was just a couple of times.

    1. Haha don’t worry I have sooo many of those books 😂 There are just too many great books to read!! And if you are a mood reader like me, what sounds like the best book ever when you learn about might not strike your fancy when it actually comes out 😂

    1. That is probably my biggest complaint with Audiobooks, tho most of the audiobooks I listen to are not re-reads so if I don’t have a pre-convinced voice in my head then the narrator won’t bug me (unless their voice is annoying haha)
