Yesterday I participated in Top Ten Tuesday and wrote about the top ten New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018.
While writing that post I realized that out of the 58 authors I read in 2018, only 8 weren’t new-to-me. I was surprised by this incredibly low number so I decided I should highlight the 8 authors that I re-visited!
Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples
Re-Read in 2018: Saga Vol 7
Read for the first time in 2018: Saga Vol 8 and Saga Vol 9
J.K. Rowling
Re-Read in 2018: Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and Order of the Phoenix
Jan Brett
Read for the first time in 2018: The Hat
Naomi Novik
Re-Read in 2018: Uprooted
Read for the first time in 2018: Spinning Silver
Rachael Anderson
Read for the first time in 2018: My Sister’s Intended
Sarah Kuhn
Re-Read in 2018: Heroine Complex and Heroine Worship
Read for the first time in 2018: Heroine Journey
Veronica Roth
Read for the first time in 2018: Carve the mark and The Fates Divide
Victoria Alexander
Read for the first time in 2018: The Lady Travelers Guide to Larceny with a Dashing Stranger
I’m curious! Were most of your 2018 authors new-to-you or re-visits? Let me know!

I read a mixture of new and re-visited authors in 2018 – maybe more new ones due to blog hoping & being introduced to them. I’m still to read quite a few of those authors you re-visited. So many books, so little time. 😊📚

I think blogging is a huge reason I have so many new-to-me authors! Soooo many new books and I want to read them all!!

I’ve heard so much about Saga! I must get to it! And.. I can’t believe I still haven’t read a book by Veronica Roth!

Its amazing!!! Tho very adult too, just a warning! (If you couldn’t tell by the first cover!) While I like her books and I know she is super popular, there are a lot of other hyped authors that I would push first haha

I’ve read some Brian Vaughan but it’s mostly been Runaways, although I did read the first three Saga’s I think- I’m not sure where I left off.
The Mitten looks super cute.

I haven’t read the runaways but I have heard of it. I didn’t know it was by him! I will have to check it out!

I read more new authors than re-visited authors last year, too. Still, tracking which authors weren’t new-to-me sounds like a fun twist on the TTT topic!

Haha I did both because I wanted to do the actual TTT topic but I also wanted to point out how few not-new-to-me authors I read 😂 😂

I haven’t re-read them since the last movie came out so I figured it was time 😀 Thanks! You too!

Man, this post and seeing all the available volumes of Saga laid out like that just reminds me of how far behind in the series I am!

Haha well you have plenty of time to catch up because the authors are on hiatus 😦

Great post! I love Saga so much. The Mitten was such a favorite, but I’ve never read The Hat. Jan Brett’s artwork is so gorgeous! Argh, I still need to read my copy of Spinning Silver — which I bought the day it was released! So behind…

Thanks 🙂 I love it too! And my mom read me The Mitten when I was little and I picked up a copy of The Hat for my niece at a book sale (and of course I had to read it first!) I have three books I still need to read that I had bought the day they were released! I just don’t have enough time!!!!

Wow that’s a lot of new authors! But it’s great that there were ones that you were able to return to as well! Harry Potter is, of course, always a perfect series to reread over and over (and over and over and over) again. What did you think of Carve the Mark? I liked Divergent when I read it like 7 years ago but not sure how much I would now…

I have read HP more times than I can count!! ❤ I really loved Carve the Mark but The Fates Divide dragged on a bit. I also liked Divergent when I read it, but its been so long.

Love HP and Saga! This is really interesting that you only re-read a handful of authors.
