Wyrd & Wonder

Whelp I have decided to join Wyrd & Wonder! Its a month long celebration of all things fantasy, and I am super excited.  Originally I wasn’t going to join because I am no good at these things, but I kept seeing it EVERYWHERE and its fantasy and I want to do it! (You can blame credit KathyLynn, and Tammy for letting me know about it!)

Wyrd & Wonder is created and hosted by ImyrilLisa, and Jorie. You can find all the details and sign up here.

Weird and Whatnow?

Wyrd and Wonder is a month-long celebration of the fantastic. We want to hear about your love of epic fantasy, low fantasy, grimdark, urban fantasy, portal fantasy, magical realism, fairytales, mythology – you name it, if it’s fantasy, we’ll be talking about it. We’ll be blogging, tweeting, sharing pictures and inflating our TBRs all month, and we’d love you to join in. We might even manage a group movie night!

Never read any fantasy but curious to dip your toe? We’re here to help.

Got a fantasy TBR the size of Mount Doom? We share your affliction.

Fancy hanging out with likeminded fans across the blogosphere, Twitter, Litsy and Instagram? Then sign up to let us know you’re planning on taking part, and we’ll see you in May!

Since I just decided to pull the trigger and sign up only 20 minutes ago, I don’t really have a set TBR yet, but I love fantasy so it shouldn’t be that hard to find books!

The only book I am dead set on reading is “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch” by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman because the TV show comes out on May 31st.

I am also watching Game of Thrones! I am on season 3 episode 3.  I read the first 4.5 books in the series  (I never finished “A Dance with Dragons”) while I was in college, and I watched the 1st season when it first came out.  Since then I haven’t read or watched any GOT, until now.  Now that the final season is in progress (and my parents got HBO) I have decided it is time to catch up!  I binge watched the first two seasons in about a week, but I won’t be able to keep that pace up.  I am hoping to get completely caught up with GOT by the time Good Omens is released.

Because I am watching GOT my reading time will drop significantly, so who knows how many books I will get to, but at least GOT is fantasy!! I don’t know exactly what I am going to post and do for Wyrd & Wonder yet but I am signed up!

Are you participating in Wyrd & Wonder? Do you have a giant TBR lined up?

    1. I hope you might consider joining us! 🙂 There is no time like today to join the celebration of the fantastical! 🙂 I’m one of the co-hosts and I woke up with a horrid side effect to a bad allergy attack – my own post(s) haven’t populated yet on my blog – you definitely have time to join us!! 1. Hallo, Hallo Brittany!

Welcome, welcome to #WyrdAndWonder!! I’m one of your lovely co-hosts dropping by to welcome you into the fold of participants who are wicked enthused as you are to begin their journey this MAY disappearing into the fantastical realms we all mutually LOVE and admire!! I, personally consider this month to be a holiday where I can settle into some lovely #newtomeauthors, seek out new worlds to feel absorbed inside and chatter with like-minded individuals who love the same! Thereby, welcome, welcome!!

You remind me of myself – I’ve dived straight into a book blogosphere event and/or readathon w/in minutes or hours of its kick-off! Sometimes it makes the best experience, truly! Don’t worry about not having a TBR – I had one planned, then won a few books and took part in #ReviewPit on Twitter – to where I now have a lovely double stack of lovelies I’ll be reading this month!

Take the month as it comes – don’t over plan it, have a heap of fun and I look forward to seeing your posts!

And thanks for the advice! 😀 I was never good at following TBRs anyway 😂 And I do think I will enjoy it a lot more if I don't over plan!

      1. I think the best bit we can all remind ourselves over when it comes to blogging and reading is to throw our pre-planned plans out the perverbial window !! lol

    1. Thanks 😀 And Yay! I’m glad you liked it.

I know the show is coming out on Amazon Prime and then on BBC … I never thought of this before, for the Prime release will it be worldwide or just in the UK? Now I am worried I won’t get it either 😦

  2. Sounds like fun! I have a huge TBR pile (and most of it is fantasy) but I need to not join any more readalongs right now, LOL. Have fun! I think I’ll watch Good Omens first and then read it after, since my TBR is too long right now as it is.

    1. Haha that is why I didn’t really want to join because I can’t do readalongs and challenges, but its Fantasy! And plus, as far as I can tell, there aren’t a ton of rules or guidlines or expectations haha. Its just a celebration of fantasy 😀
