Contents:

  • The Little Mermaid bath salts from The Soap Librarian
  • Daughter of the Pirate King wooden bookmark by Juniper and Ivy Designs
  • Tea Light Candle Lantern by OwlCrate
  • The Scorpio Races tin pencil case by Stella Bookish Art
  • Sea Witch loose leaf tea from Riddle’s Tea Shoppe
  • House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig, with a letter and a bookmark
  • House of Salt and Sorrows enamel pin by Laserbrain Patch Co

It seems weird to me that they would include both an edible item and an inedible item in a box (because I am a child and want to eat them both?) but I love both these items! I haven’t tried them yet but the bath salts smell AMAZING and I like Earl Gray tea.  I do wish it wasn’t decaffeinated, but you can’t win them all.

The lantern is gorgeous and I can’t wait to use it in my bookstagram pictures! I am a little hesitant to actually use it with a candle though, because the bottom of mine is super loose and falls out?  It seems like it should twist and lock in place but is still tips and won’t stay.  Does anyone else have this problem?

The outside of the tin says “I am so, so alive” and the tray says ” The ocean will not shift me and the cold will not take me”  I really like the double layers of the tin, now I just need to figure out what I want to put in it!

The bookmark is awesome! For me it will be decorative because I don’t use bookmark, but that is ok because it is really pretty!

At fist glance I thought the pin was a Russian building (like on the original cover of Shadow and Bone) It took me a bit to realize it was supposed to be lighthouse.  But the light in the lighthouse is supposed to be glow in the dark so that is really cool!

I love the changes they made for the exclusive cover.  The teal color feels much more ocean-like and it’s a lot prettier.  I don’t know if all the editions have it or just the OwlCrate edition, but the title page, the inside cover, and the naked cover all have cool designs too!

Overall I really love this month’s this box!! It doesn’t really have anything extra that I won’t use, and I like every single item!

Next month’s theme is Fear the Night, which I am not looking forward to at all, but I’m a glutton for punishment so I will still get the box!

  1. I love these box unveilings. The goodies are so lovely – the book looks gorgeous and that lantern – I love it. I wonder if you can fix the bottom so you can use it. Perhaps you could stand it on a shelf with a tea light – then at least it’s not as dangerous?

    1. Thanks 😊 OwlCrate has awesome goodies! I don’t think I can fix the lantern, but if I am super careful and don’t move it after I light it then I will still be able to use it! I’m just curious to know if it is just mine that is this way or if it was everyone’s?

  2. That book edition really is prettier than the regular one! Nice. And the rest of the box looks great too! Personally, I love decaf tea especially in the winter, because then I can drink tea ALL DAY LONG without impacting my ability to sleep at night.

    1. I agree! It is super pretty ❤ I used to drink a ton of soda and caffeine never really seemed to effect my sleeping. I usually only drink tea at work and It kind of helps me stay awake. But I guess I really just like drinking something warm haha so I am not sure why I want it to be caffeinated 😂

      1. I drink a TON of tea, and while it never used to seem to impact my sleeping, lately it seems like it has started to. But only sometimes, so I’m really not sure. I think it just amplifies any problems I’m having with getting my mind to slow down? So it really is only a problem when I’m already having trouble falling asleep, but then it makes it so much worse, LOL. Agreed, though. I love drinking something warm at night, so I am very glad there is decaf tea.

  3. The pencil case is gorgeous. I always feel like the Scorpio Races is one of the most underrated books. The lantern is also a nice addition to the box and very fitting with the theme.

  4. So, I gave in and signed up and this was my first box and I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised! I LOVED that lantern. I tried the tea and it was pretty good too. The only thing I probably won’t use is the bath salts but my husband has claimed them (lol) so it’s a great box overall. 🙂

      1. It doesn’t fit snug but it’s also not tipsy. It’s kind of like the lantern part just sits over the candle holder part. I can’t wait to use mine, I am a bit of a candle addict so this comes in handy. 🙂
