This weeks theme: A cover that features an explosion.
My Choice: A Killing Frost (A.K.A. The Third Day, The Frost)
It might be a bit of a stretch to call this a SciFi book, but the first book in the series is a pretty solid Dystopia / SciFi.
Covers:
Scholastic 2006 | Pan 1996 | Pan 2010 | Pan 2008
Quercus 2012 | Pan 1995 | Houghton Mifflin | Pan 2012
Publishing house 2011 | Molino 2012 | Founding 2009 | Bonnier 2000
Macmillan 1998 | Carlsen 2003 | Pan 1997 | Yuanliu 2011

This cover doesn’t do a great job of portraying what the book is about, but if you read the first two in the series then you already know. And I just really like the art style for some reason!
Love these! I have agree, my two favorites are the Scholastic 2006 and the one you chose😁

Ok so I like a few of these. I like the Houghton Mifflin one a bit, with the helicopter thing going on, and I really like the Bonnier 2000- there’s a lot of action in that one. That’s probably my fave. 🙂

I think if I had written this today then I would have chose Bonnier 2000 😂 It was a close choice and I kept going back an fourth with my decision

What an amazing selection of covers – what strikes me is how DIFFERENT they are, given they are all of the same book… The first cover just edges it for me, though I also very much like the Macmillan 1998, which has a retro vibe going on there. This week’s theme certainly has thrown up some fascinating books!

I didn’t notice before, but you are right! The covers are all very different! The first cover is the one I read so I am a bit partial to that one too haha

It is interesting what a powerful influence that is, I find:).

I like the drama of some of the mushroom cloud covers, but I think yours is the best because it’s the most interesting!

Yes, the one I picked doesn’t look nearly as dramatic as some of the others! But I agree it is super interesting 😀

Ooh, I love these posts that you do! 😀 I have to admit the one you chose as a fav is really eye-catching. The colours and contrast are great! I also like the Quercus, 2012 one as well. Jen

Thanks 😊 If I didn’t know anything about the book I probably would have chosen the Quercus, 2012 one, but it just doesn’t really fit.

Hmm… there were so many covers to choose from! I have to be entirely honest that I don’t particularly love any of them 😛 But the one you chose as the best I think was the best of them all too!

I like some of the covers but none of them would have convinced me to get the book if I knew nothing about it haha.
