Top Five Wednesday – Books I NEED To Reread (In order to finish the series)

118368

Top Five Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey @ Ginger Reads Lainey and then passed down to Sam @ Thoughts On Tomes. Currently Top 5 Wednesday is on an indefinite hiatus, however that hasn’t stopped group members from coming up with their own topics and still participating.  For more information check out the goodreads group.

Last week Anna @  My Bookish Dream chose the topic “Books I NEED To Reread!” And as much as I don’t want to think of all the books I need to reread, it really is a great topic! Buuuut there are way more than 5 books that I NEED to reread.  So I am going to tweak the topic a bit.  These are –

The Top 5 Series I need to reread in order to finish:

1) Nevernight & Godsgrave

Capture1

I originally read these in April of 2018.  I bought Darkdawn the day it was released, but still haven’t read it because I haven’t had time to reread Nevernight & Godsgrave first

2) Grave Mercy, Dark Triumph, & Mortal Heart

Capture2

I know Courting Darkness is technically its own series, but I still want to reread His Fair Assassins first. (I originally read them in December of 2016)

3) The Cruel Prince & The Wicked King

Capture3

I read The Cruel Prince in February 2018 and then I reread it when The Wicked King came out in January 2019.  I need to reread them both before I read The Queen of Nothing, which comes out on Tuesday.

4) Heartstone & Dragonshadow

Capture4

I read Heartstone in June of 2018 and re-read it in February 2019 when I read Dragonshadow.  I need to reread them both before I read Flamebringer which came out yesterday.

5) Born in Fire & Raised in Fire

Capture5

I read these in June 2017 and Fused in Fire came out July 2017 but somehow I didn’t learn about the 3rd book until like a year later, so now I need to reread the first two.

Have you started and/or finished any of these series? What series do you need to reread in order to finish? Lets Chat!

    1. What do you do when a new book comes out? Can you remember the story enough to just pick it back up? I used to have time to re-read before blogging, but since starting my blog I have discovered so many more books and I want to read them all!

  1. I hope you manage to re-read all of these and that you enjoy the rest of the series! I want to give Heartstone a try, it sounds really fun, and I need to read Mortal Heart so I can finally move on to LaFevers’ new books. I’d like to read Nevernight soon, too, and I’m SO excited for The Queen of Nothing. 😀 Happy reading!

  2. There are definitely some books I need to re-read before I can continue with the series! I probably have more of those than I remember, but here are a few:
    * Ill Wind (for Rachel Caine’s Weather Warden series)
    * Thirteenth Child (for Patricia C. Wrede’s Frontier Magic trilogy)
    * Staying Dead and Curse the Dark (for Laura Anne Gilman’s Retriever’s series)
    * Night Shift (for Lilith Saintrcrow’s Jill Kismet series)

(Huh. I guess that’s five books. I didn’t do that on purpose.)

I haven’t read any of the ones on your list, but The Cruel Prince and Heartstone are on my TBR. 🙂

  3. I would love to reread the cruel prince, but I think I will just hop into Queen of nothing, and hope for the best haha!
I hope you get to them all!

  4. I always feel like no matter how hard I try with series I’m a book behind at least 🙂

But if I could get to Dragon Shadow this week between that one and Queen of Nothing it could be two series off my list this month! Worth it. Good luck with your reading!

  5. I really need to catch up with the Nevernight trilogy. I read the first book and loved it, but the next book got mixed up with all the other releases and I just forgot about it haha. I keep meaning to read the His Fair Assassins trilogy, but I never seem to be in the mood for it. I’ll get there one day.

  6. I never reread tbh I just dive in – sometimes I go back and check out previous reviews just to have a bit of a catchup but that’s only if the wait between books had been quite lengthy.
I must say I have a huge amount of respect for you going back and rereading and wish I could do that – particularly revisiting some much loved books from earlier years.

    1. Before blogging I would re-read all the time, but I haven’t had time, now that I’m blogging, because I know about so many more books and I want to read them all!!! I think I am going to try reading Queen of Nothing without re-reading the rest of the series. I’ve never done that before so we will see how it goes!!

  7. Sorry for making you think about all the books you need to reread! 😂 I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, but I have heard great things about all of them. I hope that you’ll be able to get around to rereading them soon!
