Friday Face Off is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, and run by Lynn’s Book Blog. You can check out all my past Friday Face Offs here.

November is SciFiMonth! Lets celebrate with 30 days of sharing our enthusiasm for all things science fictional hosted by There’s Always Room For One More and Dear Geek Place

“No thinking thing should be another thing’s property, to be turned on and off when it is convenient.

This weeks theme:  A cover featuring artificial intelligence.

The theme this month is technically “Robot” not “Artificial Intelligence” But I have the perfect book to go with the quote and he isn’t actually a robot!

My Choice: We Are Legion (We Are Bob)

Why is this book the perfect choice to go with the quote? This is a section taken directly from the synopsis:

Bob wakes up a century later to find that corpsicles have been declared to be without rights, and he is now the property of the state. He has been uploaded into computer hardware and is slated to be the controlling AI in an interstellar probe looking for habitable planets.

Covers:

Worldbuilders Press 2016 | Ethan Ellenberg Literary Agency 2017 | Heyne Verlag 2018

Audible Studios 2016 | Bragelonne 2018 | Metropolis Media 2017

One of these covers actually has robots on it! Tho in the book he is a spaceship not a Robot, so the cover doesn’t really fit.

  1. I like the one you chose, mostly because of the font and Spaceships. Transformers are robots that can transform into vehicles and flying machines so they can definitely be spaceships 🙂 I love transformers

    1. I like the idea of looking out the cockpit, but the execution was a bit cluttered and hard to read. And I love the Bragellone one too, but it doesn’t really make sense for the book because he isn’t a robot!
