Friday Face Off: Tunnel

Friday Face Off is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, and run by Lynn’s Book Blog. You can check out all my past Friday Face Offs here

This weeks theme:  Tunnel

At the end of every light, is a tunnel of darkness.

My Choice: Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

The entrance to The Chamber of Secrets is a tunnel!

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling right now, and while I completely disagree with her comments I still love the books.  I believe you can love the book and dislike the author.  But despite that I still wasn’t sure I should choose Harry Potter this week, but this post is to celebrate the awesome covers and their artists, not the author, so I am going to stick with it.

Covers:

Scholastic 1999 | Pottermore 2015 | Raincoast 2000 |  Bloomsbury 2014

Bloomsbury 2016 | Scholastic 2002 | Raincoast 2004 | Bloomsbury 2010

How have I never seen this cover before?!?! I love the fairy tale aspect of it and the art is perfect!

Which is your favorite? Do you agree with my choice? Let me know in the comments!!

  1. There are two that I really liked. The first was the Bloomsbury 2014, the second is one of your least favourites: French & European 2004. They were both very different, but both really caught my eye and have a tunnel on them as well. I do like the one you selected though.

  2. I agree with you, I’m not going to get caught up in the JKR controversy because I love the books as well. I think it’s horrible to make readers choose between beloved books and authors. Saying that, I love so many of these! I do love the artwork on the Levine 2018 covers😁

  3. I completely agree with you there! Cover artists do need celebrating though and there are so many here that I’ve never seen before!
I particularly like that Pottermore 2015 cover! The little figure holding up a glowing wand in a snake-like tunnel – beautiful! 😀
