This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but up-kept by Lynn’s Book Blog.
“When she was a child, the witch locked her away in a tower that had neither doors nor stairs.”
This weeks theme: A cover featuring a tower.
I made the mistake of blog hopping before writing my post today and I saw that both The Bibliosanctum and Books, Bones, and Buffy chose Uprooted this week. I LOVE Uprooted and now I really want to use that as my choice, but I had only ever seen one cover and didn’t realize there was a tower on that cover, and I never would have chosen it myself. So, I will choose something else but I want to give a shout out too those two for their awesome book choice!
My Choice: The Two Towers

Houghton Mifflin 2012 | Harper Collins 1999 | Houghton Mifflin 1999 |Mariner 2003

Harper Collins 2012 | Harper Collins 2001 | Houghton Mifflin 1988 | Ballantine 1984

There are a LOT of covers for this book! I didn’t even include them all! I picked the first 28 unique ish ones from goodreads. There are a lot of good ones, but here are my 4 favorites:
It is super hard to pick just one!! I really like all four and they are all really different! I think I am going to have to go with the third one, because it feels the most Tolkien-eske, but the fourth one is a close second.
Which one do you like best? I included the publishers this week because there are so many covers! Have you read The Two Towers?
Update: Book Wraiths and Every Day Should Be Tuesday also chose The Two Towers! (I promise I didn’t see their posts before I picked it!) Go check out their posts too! They both featured some really cool covers that aren’t listed above! I think my new favorite is one that Book Wraith’s found:
I really like the red and the green ones from your final four.

The green one is definitely the most fun cover out of all of them! If I hadn’t read the book I prolly would have picked the green as my fav, but it doesn’t really fit the mood, if that makes sense?

I love that you included other languages! Super cool. Imagine doing this again in 15 years, they’ll probably at least 25 more covers by then.

There are 485 editions on goodreads! That is 17 pages. I only pulled covers from the first two pages. There were some duplicates and a lot of similar ones, but there are countless other covers I didn’t get too. I am sure there will be lots more covers in 15 years, but I wouldn’t be able to tell because I didn’t even look at all the covers that are currently out! 😂

I do like the Harper Collins 2012 ad 2001 though I know people hate movie covers. 🙂

Those ones are very subtle movie covers (mainly because they don’t have the actors faces on them!) but I don’t mind movie covers in general, especially if I liked the movie!

There are so many good ones for this book, I can’t choose! You’re right though, your choice is very Tolkien-esque and I love that it features the “fellowship” aspect!

It was super hard to choose! And I’m glad you agree that it is Tolkien-esque! It just felt the most right haha 😀

Unbelievably, with all this choice, we agree on that cover – I also really like the third cover, top row.

Wow! So many amazing covers!! 😀 It’s definitely difficult to choose a favourite.
I’d probably go for the Houghton Mifflin 2012, Houghton Mifflin 1999, Houghton Mifflin 1988, Harper Collins 2013 and Ballantine 1977…. but choosing between them…. ahhh! Probably the Harper Collins – Beautiful and simple! 😀
